Highly original presentation of the trials and tribulations involving the many barriers which arise when producing a Broadway play. An amazing comeback for Michael Keaton - as Riggan - whose quirky, but believable acting style is put to good use. His eyes reveal his fear even though his words suggest a massive ego (but he is of course masking mucho insecurity) This is a first class production helmed by Alejandro G. Innuritu (Babel) and expertly shot (in what appears to be one continuous take) by Emmanuel Lubzeki (Galaxy) There's great support from Edward Norton, the obnoxious, confident actor who makes an attempt to rule the roost. Naomi Watts also great as a fearful newbie to the Broadway scene. Let's not forget the post-rehab, wounded daughter (Emma Stone) pining for more quality time with father, the ambitious Riggan. Pardon me for saying it, but Birdman really soars even when it threatens to fly too close to the sun.
