Boychoir by Francois Girard ( The Red Violin ) and starring Dustin Hoffman as the choirmaster is a good well acted movie, but it falls apart at the end, sad to say. There is nothing wrong with being uplifted, but the conclusion turns too softhearted to make it acceptable, almost as sweet as the music produced by the title name. Something less predictable would have been far more refreshing and perhaps make it all a lot more realistic.
