It's strange that CAPRICE from 1967 coupling Doris Day with the very talented actor Richard Harris is hardly a film associated with the still very much alive Miss Day, now 91 as of May 2015. It's rarely shown for whatever reasons. Pairing Miss Day and Richard Harris certainly is a bit of an oddity to me, but it worked. Previewed on Turner with the trailer stating it was great entertainment, a thriller far above the rest seemed rather bold advertising. Yet the Frank Tashlin film does work well. This is Doris right at the end of her film career, proving she could work well in any genre, not merely musicals and comedies. I wish she had done more dramatic work which she did with great competence.
