Though not quite as brilliant as the thunderously entertaining Winter Solider, Civil War does deliver the goods. Whether it's a stunning hand to hand fight down the staircase of a winding Apt complex, or an all out brawl in an airplane hanger, the third Capt America film is packed with superb action set pieces, featuring a wide assortment of Marvel characters both new and old, strutting their respective stuff all to the delight of fans. Is it a little too much at times? Yes, but overkill is inevitable here and the film never let's it get out of hand. The narrative even drops a bombshell or two, making character emotion, whether driven by friendship or family, a genuine aspect of the plot. Boredom is an impossibility with this much of a good thing on display. Even if the film does drag a little at times, there's always something awesome just around the corner. Another definite winner for Marvel.
