Well... not worthy of all the hype is what I say. Hanks is average, and Mr. Di Crappio is well, crappy. Spielberg gives this potentially gritty screenplay a sugary dose of Disney. You never really get to like Hank's character Carl Hanratty, except for his use of the word "Cah" and most of the folks in the Theatre end up rooting for Crappio's character because he was the "star" of Titanic. The only acting worthy of note here is a pretty good performance by Martin Sheen and a great performance by the ever clever Christopher Walken. Honorable mentions also go out to Amy Adams who plays Crappio's love interest. When Spielberg gets sappy, it makes you want to puke. This problem was evident in the ending of his last crappy film, "Minority Report". At least he didn't fill this film with product placements. I paid 13 bucks for this, what a fleece. Go see it on cheap movie night or just stay home and rent "Back to the Future".
