    52 minutes

Known for his monumental reinterpretations of classic portraits featuring young African- American men, American visual artist Kehinde Wiley (born in 1977) recently embarked on a new project, this time focused on African-American women. He commissioned Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy to create couture gowns for them. Each time, Wiley's method is the same: he recruits his models on the streets of New York, Brooklyn or Harlem, followed by a photo shoot inspired by a classic painting. Wiley's canvases skillfully combine a baroque atmosphere with a modern, realist style, presenting surprising encounters between the history of art and street culture.
