Tyler Perry keeps getting better. Seriously! You can see how he hones his craft, each film has better timing, acting, lighting, etc. I guess it's the budget that comes with success. But regarding this particular movie, I knew nothing about it going in, I had not even seen a trailer and never read the poetry. It was on of the most moving films I have ever seen. The situations are a reality for many individuals and I thought (in my limited ignorance) that he did a superb job at creating lifelike scenarios that many could relate to. This movie was a tragedy, not a comedy, so it is not very uplifting. There is virtually nothing I can criticize (though there is a ton of foul language many folks speak like that all day long) I think this kind of filmmaking as a social commentary can and will change lives as real hard issues are addressed in a poignant manner.
