Ira Madiyama

Ira Madiyama is set in mid-1990s Sri Lanka during the brutal civil war, weaving three interlinked stories. Chamari, a Sinhalese woman, searches for her husband, an Air Force pilot believed captured by the Tamil Tigers, with the help of a journalist. Eleven-year-old Arfath, a Tamil Muslim, fights to keep his dog as his family and village are forced to evacuate by rebels. Meanwhile, Duminda, a young soldier, discovers his sister working in a brothel.
