Keanu Reeves shoots every Russian mobster in NYC. Willem Dafoe spouts philosophical mumbo-jumbo as life advice. Hitmen are superhuman beings that have their own secret societies and goofy subtitles are the best way to convey immigrant mobsters yakking. It's kinda fun, but mostly a waste of time. Look for a Jean-Pierre Melville reference, though that director's class isn't apparent as an influence on this flick. If he was, well, whoever made this went wide off the Melville mark.
