Jake is a charming goofball and recent high school graduate that likes his life and his food sugar-coated. His best friends Samantha and Louie are headed off to college, but Jake is a creature of habit that appreciates simplicity and can't think of a better existence than the one he already has in Arcadia at his family's tea shop. Then she walks in. Her name is Joanna. Wiser than her 18 years would suggest, she is a worldly and ambitious young woman who had to grow up quickly and consequently focuses more on the future than the present and rarely considers the past. Her hope of finally impressing her estranged father with a successful business venture is complicated when she unexpectedly meets Jake, who takes her on a trip down memory lane that challenges her motives, aspirations, and raison d'être. Despite warnings from Samantha and Louie to proceed with caution, Jake and Joanna grow more emotionally entangled just as the tension between their rival family businesses escalates, and it's unclear which will survive -- their relationship or their way of life.
