That was going to be my lame attempt of a title, but surprisingly Mr. 3000 is watchable. The most noticeable thing for a "Disney" (it's actually Buena Vista which is just another name for Disney) movie is that there is a lot of cussing. I was surprised, don't get me wrong I absolutely don't mind hearing those words but coming from what I thought was a young target audience was a bit surprising. Mr. 3000 aka Bernie Mac (Bernie Mac Show, Ocean's 11) plays on the fact on how some superstars create themselves a big ego (aka Barry Bonds) and think as themselves better than the rest aka (Barry Bonds) Ok I'm not a big fan of Barry Bonds and I secretly think the movie was meant to teach him a lesson. Bernie Mac puts on a good show for his first big role, but you can argue he's just playing his character that he portrays on his tv show and you wouldn't be wrong. Other stars like Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas, The Cooler) who happens to have one of the easiest roles of his career and Angela Bassett (Boyz in The Hood, Malcolm X) who does a good job as the ex-love, new love interest of Mac. Opposite to what Pedro thinks, the movie could surprise a few, obviously some parts are easily predictable but in the bottom line Barry Bonds might benefit from watching the movie. Now for the funny things that happened at the première at the "beloved" Eaton Centre. Obviously, since this was a Disney flick we got another cavity search... I know it's annoying but I found a new trick, eat a tuna salad and make sure to keep some tuna in your bag you'll see they'll get annoyed. Secondly, the great theater that is the Eaton Center had a bad projection on the screen for about 5 minutes. Cutting people heads off... which made Angela Bassett role even that more important (hint she was only wearing a tanktop... ) Finally at the exit we received a baseball card of the great Stan Ross which is full of mistakes including a classic 2004 stats O hits in 103 AB does not give you a. 300 average.
