In 2011, John Outlaw, a beloved high school football coach in Lufkin, Texas, died suddenly and unexpectedly during a morning run. For the 2012 season, Outlaw is replaced by former assistant coach Todd Quick. Quick is tested by players who had come to know John but are pushing to understand the new coach's style.
