Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

I decided I'd give this movie a chance, but also keeping my expectations low at the same time because it was a Disney Picture. That's not a bad thing either... there have been many shining examples of great films put out by Disney, as well as some weak one's too, so I wanted to be prepared in case. Well, I must say I was pleasantly surprised by Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. It was actually a decent flick, not what I'd call the best one out there, but yes, very entertaining and a wild romp at that. I can't really say if the video game followed the plot of this film to the letter, although there were some unique additions added which obviously worked very well. Besides that, there was much eye-popping action throughout that kept my attention... there was never a dull moment. The fight scenes I thought were amazing, and overall the storyline was not bad considering it was a little predictable at times. Special effects were great too. Also, the visuals of the ancient cities were spectacular and believable. One thing I must commend this movie for is its great cast. I thought Jake Gyllenhaal was a good choice for Dastan and Gemma Aterton made a perfect princess. I could really feel the romantic chemistry between them on screen. Of course I thought Gemma Arterton was hot. Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina were great too even though they didn't have that much of a part in the film. Aside from that, there were some good, funny one-liners amongst the actors as well. In closing, this is a worth while summer blockbuster to see. Enjoy the ride!
