If I am unsure about going to see a newly released movie, I check 'cinemamontreal' to see what the people have to say. But I always find it a little funny when looking at reviews for horror movies similar to 'Quarantine' that say "this movie has no plot". Now don't get me wrong, I AGREE with them (& there are some great horrors that do have plots) I just laugh a little because today's movie trailers give away most of the movie, and it was obvious from the 'Quarantine' trailer that we'd be lucky to get decent dialog, never mind a plot. Anyway... when going to see a movie like this, I am not expecting Oscar winning story lines (hey, I'd be happy with tolerable acting), I go to see this type of movie to hopefully escape and get a good scare. The first half of this movie will not give you a good scare, sorry. I did not get lucky with the whole "tolerable acting" thing either. But if you can handle the extremely annoying hand held camera shaking, and the fact that it often cannot focus on one face for more than 2 seconds, you might get somewhat of the scare you were looking for by coming to a movie like this. I suggest waiting for the DVD. But if you really want to see it, I recommend going on a cheap night (make sure you don't get sick from this type of camera handling), and feel free to arrive 20 minutes late. Trust me you won't miss anything. Actually, it may just improve this movie (no joke!), you already know what's needed from the trailer. I gave it a 5/10 only because of the last 20 minutes.
