I'm not sure why parents do not do more thorough research prior to assuming that an animated movie is going to be suitable for kids, this one is not necessarily going to be the best choice, especially for small children. There are scenes that may frighten them and the dialogue will not be understood or appreciated by a younger audience, nor do I believe that it is directed at them. My mom and I were laughing and noticed that the kids in the theatre weren't. This isn't your typical fart n burp humor that kids typically kind so amusing at the nauseating expense of the adults who accompany them - it is a good movie worth the watch if you can leave your kids at home or if they are old and mature enough - this is not Ice Age or toy Story by a long short.
