Disaster movies are almost always disasters themselves but this one wasn't too bad, mostly due to the superb eye candy of the actress who played "Blake". If you think that this nonsense is actual "science" however, then you'll believe anything that David Suzuki says. In terms of geology and physics "San Andreas" is a fantasy, Sociologically it's extremely far-fetched, too, what with the FEMA agency made to look like a model of both nobility and efficiency. That said, the special effects are spectacular and the movie is fast-paced. And the popcorn wasn't bad, either.
