Script writing 101 at Best, too much like Star Wars (1977) If you remove Fin from movie, nothing would be changed. Fin a life long trained Stormtrooper/Killer leaves the life behind and is as happy go lucky as a man with a well adjusted upbringing. Rae is the Hollywood stereo typical (ACI) All Competent Ingenue. Spoiler alert - click to reveal textShe becomes powerful enough by movies end to fight Kylo Ren who has trained his entire life with the Force. It took Luke 3 movies to do this, and she is already beyond his 'Empire' stage. She knows the Millennium Falcon better than Han despite never flying it once. The 'Big' moment is not emotional, more meh.
The reason I give it a 6 is J. J. directs it well as per usual for him. It paced well, sometime too fast but the ADHD among you may not notice. Overall it looks and feels like we're in the Star Wars Universe which for me the Stinkquels rarely did. Go see it at least once on the Big Screen, especially if you like the rest. Here's hoping the next ones better?

You are being far too generous giving this a 6. The fact that ol' JJ directs it and it is such a let down, he should be penalized. If anything, I'd be giving it a 1 or 2 considering that JJ dropped the ball here BIG TIME! Wait a minute, I did give it a 2! LOL Certainly has taken the wind out of my sails for any future Star Wars movies. This is nothing more than a somewhat improved release over the previous 3 jokes. They never will top the original 3 Star Wars movies.
