This is an achingly slow flic. This film is not rated properly. It is certainly not G level. It's a ho-hum story but misses the most important events in ww2 Germany, the Holocaust and the hatred and brutality of the Nazis. In this flic, the German soldiers are portrayed as polite and smiling. Go back to your history books and get it right before you paint the big screen with nonsense. It does do justice to the Holocaust survivors and their families at all.

-_- really the ignorance of some people... It's based off of a book so guess what it is going to follow the book and the book isn't about nazi brutality. Lets also be a little more open minded not every german soldier and citizen was a nasty evil miserable person, and this movie portrayed a possible look at civilian life for germans and how it may have affected them, geez this isn't a movie about the holocaust, get over yourself.
