Horror has gone from the scary Frankenstein monster of the 30's to the Excorcist of the 70's and all those ratty Jason and Friday the 13th movies. So we thought we had seen it all until a Lord of the Rings looking creature lives in a cave with other Lord of the Rings creatures and waits for humans who have nothing better to do that to prove that they can climb around rocks to show how important they are. Or whatever. The problem I have with these movies (besides the fact that I have to sit in a theatre with teenagers who can't stop talking for more than 60 seconds and constantly looking at their cell phones)is that there really isn't anything new in terms of the psychology of what really frightens us. I am giving this a 7 because it was shot really well and the scary jump out scenes are good. But really, at the end of the day it's just a bunch of chics who have nothing better to do than become the next meal for a scary looking Gollum look a like creature from Lord of The Rings who hasn't brushed his teeth in 300 hundred years. You want fries with that?
