I am quite surprised the film has received such horrible reviews. I loved The Family's relationships within their family. I believed that Michelle and Robert were an old married couple and their teenaged kids were adorable to me. A family that actually likes and loves each other. No internal squabbling, no kids that are smarter than the adults as is the case with most US television and films. Tommy Lee Jones and the FBI agents were great supporting players. The Mafia guys were great too. This film is NOT Good Fellas (although there is a very funny wink and a nod to Martin Scorcese's Mafia masterpiece) or The Godfather, but then it is not hyping itself as a serious drama. Lighten up people – this is a black comedy. The violence is comedic as are the stereotypes. I wish my family were as loving, loyal and tight as The Family. I also wish we lived in France. This film is supposed to be FUN - go see it and have a laugh.
