Movie tried hard but it was terribly predictable. Like the way they left the backdrop in Canada instead of trying to make it look like a fishing village in Maine or New Hampshire. I would recommend saving your money and buying the 1991 original "Doc Hollywood" with Michael Fox and Julie Warner.

The movie is about Newfoundland, a Canadian province, not an American state. It's based on a Canadian film about a small Quebec town. [...]
I know that is what I said. Based in Canada and not an American State.
You think Jaws (rated 10!) was the first "scare on the beach movie?". If the criteria is predictability, only David Lynch movies should get above 8! And if we were to sick to original screenplay idea, we would only watch movies made before 1950!
