I found this version of Gatsby boring and almost comical in parts that were meant to be dramatic. I also think this role was beneath DiCaprio. Even so, Carey Mulligan could not hold a candle to his screen presence. I'll give it points for cinematography and an excellent soundtrack including Bang Bang by Will I Am, Back to Black by Amy Winehouse and others by Florence and the Machine and Jack White. The film was like a long music video, with highly stylized and choreographed scenes mixed with good music. I found myself not caring for any of the characters in this simplistic rags-to-riches plot and the "incorruptible dream" of Gatsby's love.
