If you are hoping for a joyful, sweet movie reminiscent of the original, this is NOT it. The first hour alternates between animal chases scenes meant to be frightening and themes of sadness, depression and grief. I would never take a child to this. At the one hour mark there is a 3 minute scene that is fun, affectionate and cute. Then another hour of threats, chases and fights with mean-spirited characters and some boredom. My husband agreed, calling it "dark". There is almost no music. I love the original. Disney should be ashamed to call this The Jungle Book.

Wow, I don't know what to say. All I saw was the beauty, magic, excitement and adventure. Perhaps not for young children, ok. But if someone is offended by this Jungle Book movie, I feel sorry for them and their very restrictive choice of movies they may find enjoyable.
