First of all, I loved this movie. Secondly, I'm a big Simpsons fan (ie I have no problem watching 5 or 6 episodes one after the other) That being said, I was unsure if I should rate this movie a 7/10 or an 8/10. And here's why. Yes, it's funny. I laughed a lot. Yes, it definitely manages to entertain. Yes, the storyline is a good one, not far-fetched by any Simpsons means. The humour did seem a little more "adult-oriented" than most tv episodes (as my 13 and 19 year-old boys mentioned upon leaving the theatre) I think I just expected a little more surprises, and was a tad bit disappointed with the Homer-Bart storyline, which echoed storylines from a few key Simpsons shows (I figured why revisit that theme again in the movie) But I know it's a cartoon, and that I shouldn't read so much into it. Since there is no 7.5/10 rating on the scale, I chose the 8 as I really do think that you should not miss it (IF you are a fan of the Simpsons) However, don't do into it with high expectations and wanting tons of surprises.
