I suppose this is the father/daughter story in quite some time. Though I enjoyed the film, I have to re-iterate that I think it's a tad long and I certainly didn't find the comic situations that funny or appealing as some did. T. E. certainly has made a huge splash in world cinema but the Oscars often upset the apple cart. The Salesman could slip in as best foreign film. I was saddened that Xavier Dolan's Canadian entry which reached the final nine, did not make it to the top five. I'm torn as to how to score this film and very hesitantly rate it between 6 and 7. Toni Erdmann was not a totally comfortable fit for me.
