As a family movie this one is a fine film. It doesn't matter if it is better or worse than the previous editions. In fact it doesn't matter if you have seen the others. This film stands on its own. The 3D aspect is not an enhancement so if you want to save a few bucks, see it in 2D. I don't think that anyone between the ages of 12 and 40 should see it unless you are going with kiddies. There is a point near the end where you will be enthralled... perhaps misty eyed... as Woodie makes a heart-rendering statement. It is something that we all need to hear from our loved ones... even though we feel it. "Never doubt my loyalty". For that spot in the movie alone, it is worth the price of admission.
