Léandre, an employee at an Internet security firm, suffers a terrible kidney stone attack. While sitting with his girlfriend, Claire, in a doctor's waiting room, he decides to drive to his hometown of Havre-Saint-Pierre on Quebec's North Shore. Alone. Once there, he settles in at his aunt Michelle's house and reconnects with former flame Eve, a girl he was once so smitten with he carved their initials into a tree. Further complicating matters, the police are looking for him after finding compromising information on his computer. Already acclaimed for his web series (33MAG, Dakodak.tv), music videos (Coeur de pirate, Omnikrom) and short films (Gourgandine), director Sébastien Landry delivers an insightful first feature that is anchored by convincing and endearing performances by young co-stars Maxime Dumontier and Sophie Desmarais. The film's subtle and luminous cinematography beautifully captures the North Shore's breathtaking landscapes, which serve as the backdrop for this young man's complex inner struggle against his own cowardice.
