I was looking forward to this for quite some time, having read the book and thoroughly enjoyed that, but this was a little disappointing for me. Casting Witherspoon and Pattison was not ideal: although both actors did a good job, they did not suite their respective roles, nor was the chemistry palpable. However, what I loved was Christoph Waltz: what a performance! And Rosie was wonderful... If they had Oscars for best animal, she'd win it. The Depression Era of the Thirties was also very well displayed and the story transition from the book's original was fluid and made sense. Altogether a very good movie, but reading the book is a better experience. Enjoy.
