This is the sort of movie that makes one think that many adults in North America are completely bonkers ten times over. The theme of obsession with being young is well illustrated. One does experience bemusement over scenes in which the millennial couple-in a sort of generational role reversal-coach the "older" gen xers in how to dress "younger". Absurdity after absurdity is piled on as the middle-aged couple are introduced to such activities as street "happenings", hip-hop dancing classes and offbeat groups with phoney gurus, one in which they are prompted to drink a Peruvian root concoction which results in a "purging of the system" (shades of 70's Me Generation encounter groups!) Well, many examples of sly humour abound and the script maintains a compelling major plot. I'll allow you to discover all this for yourself. It was good to see veteran character actor Charles Grodin (Rosemary's Baby) make (an all too short) appearance as Ben Stiller's retired documentary film-maker father-in-law. Check this picture out.
