I went to see this «classic» on the big screen, not having seen it in my younger days but I remember all the hype at the time of its’ release in the 60’s. What a bad idea! 3 hours of slow torture waiting for the film to get funny. Either today’s humour has evolved or this film is the biggest crock. It’s not enough to assemble an A-list of stars of comedy of the era for a film to be automatically funny. The proof, the audience I was in, was pretty silent.
