For some reason I expected something really bad. To my amazement, the movie was quite loyal to the original Mad Maxs. Explosions, car chases, fights, ridiculous vehicles, name it, it's there. What's not there ; cheesy love story, goofy humour, sex scenes, pointless and mundane conversations. I didn't really care about the protagonist as he's mainly grunting and emotionless. The lack of crappy dialogue and toilet humour are main factors why I was surprised by this remake. In fact, I enjoyed the movie quite a lot. The villains, for some reason, reminded me of the baddies in The House of the 1000 Corpses and and the Devil's Rejects. This may not be the movie of the year, but to me this beats Furious 7 and Avengers (Ultron) quite easily. I would have given a better score if the main character had a bit more depth and charisma/personality. This may be the first movie for which I actually enjoyed the "3d". This one is worth seeing.
