Night at the Museum contains enough funny bits to entertain and delight most members of the family young and old. Although theres nothing particularly new or original in the story and plot, there are enough unique colorful characters and situations within this original concept that the whole thing holds together well enough to overlook the obvious problems in story logic. This is a picture for the holiday season, when families are together and want to be entertained and Night at the Museum delivers to this need very well. Ben Stiller provides a likeable and realistic performance as an ordinary guy coping with life in the big city rather than the over-the-top cartoon characters he sometimes plays. It was also interesting to see Dick Van Dyke back on the big screen after many years playing a character against type. Overall a pretty good movie for this time of year.
