This is a bit formulaic- buddy movie- adult and little kid. Nevertheless, the wonderful acting- the kid (don't know his name), Naomi Watts and Bill Murray and the endearing story make it very watchable. It's the old "Don't judge a book by its cover." It's a reminder that the crusty mean old drunk has a back story. If you are a critical film viewer, there are parts of the story, which are critical to the plot that don't hang together very well- like are people under 18 allowed at the race track? You have to let details like this go to like this movie. Bottom line. I think it's a good movie with potential for Bill Murray and Naomi Watts as Oscar nominees.
