The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

I've felt that stretching one small book into three was excessive, but this movie worked for me. I've thought a doomed love between an Elf-maiden and a dwarf was unnecessary, but it works in this movie to help give the movie's conclusion meaning beyond Thorin's fate (well-reinterpreted here in my opinion) Legolas was also good added here to help tie both trilogies together (and as a live-action avatar of the character Sesshomaru from InuYasha) Adding scenes for Gandalf not in the book for the return of Sauron (including elven and wizardly assistance) helps explain why events in LOTR's trilogy play out as they do.
