Most people who take a keen interest in seeing this picture will - I think - enjoy and take something from it. A film adaptation of an Oscar Wilde play has at least a few advantages right from the start in that you get some very witty dialogue, interesting characters and comedic plot twists to work with. With such a fine head start, one wonders how one can loose. With these advantages it seems that all involved took the ball and ran with it, and as a result we see some very fine acting performances especially Rupert Everett as Algernon - exquisite art direction and okay if somewhat unimaginative film direction.
