    The Terminal

This picture attempts to put in focus the touching moments of human interaction that occur between people within a context of the hurrying mass of humanity contained within the airport terminal. I liked how Director Steven Spielberg uses the airport as a society in microcosm. After all, an airport is in itself like a small city containing many of our material needs and most of our important societal functions. Still, I’m not really sure what Spielberg is trying to say with this film. Terminal seemed to me more of an opportunity to showcase the ‘acting’ ability of his good friend Tom Hanks and promote a lot of retail store chains that probably paid a bundle to be showcased in this rather slight movie.
