Post-apocalyptic screenplay, shares at least the bunker set-up with The Divide (and the second episode of the 24 Hours TV series, where Elisha Cuthbert ends up in a similar bunker.) What I liked about 10 Cloverfield is that you're not really sure that apocalypse did happen, and the signs that something did could be attributed to other reasons - so you never know. Great 'survivalist with issues' character development by John Goodman. You keep wondering where the plot can go next in such a closed-world environment - and the story does progress and deliver. The ending could have been what it is - but anything else along similar lines would do - it's more a matter of CG budget.
