Looks like Cobie Smulders is the new Demi Moore on the scene. Well placed here in this action film that Demi would have excelled in as well. Cinematography was well done and directed but the story was a little weak. Hard to believe that Cruise is getting so old but still more or less holding his own. Character development was a little goofy which was only hurt further by some of the male/female competitive ball busting dialogue. The weirdness I found was even after there was a huge argument over who was going to "protect" the pseudo-daughter, they both ended up leaving her on her own anyway. Action was pretty good except for the idiotic plane confrontation scene that had no sincerity to it at all. That's where the story totally fell apart as if no one was even considering taking it seriously even after all of the kicking and shooting. Weird.
