6.5. Given the fact Peter Jackson was behind it along with a team of the best and brightest, I was expecting quite a bit more. This felt closer to the Matrix 2 (where lots of camera work and effects were done for the sake of it as opposed to helping the storyline or mood. A flyover above a majestic landscape can help set the tone of the enormity of a task, but extreme camera movements in a totally CGI scene going a hundred miles an hour just makes for a blurry mess.) It got campy in parts, I mean Jar Jar campy. Seriously. Waaay to many holes in the story that left you going "really? ". This movie had the feel of a movie that is trying to 'out-epic' the last one, which is always a bad idea. Just make a good movie and people will love it. The action, humour, and special effects don't HAVE to intensify each time. By the way, I never believe any 10-out-of-10 reviews. 10? There wasn't a single frame in the entire thing that was anything less than perfection? Every character was perfect? Every single line of dialogue was perfect?
