Federico Fellini was teasing. When he offered his viewers a look at 'The Sweet Life', his fertile sense of humour was only saying 'so you really think the grass is greener on the other side? ' Marcello Mastroianni leads us on a nocturnal tour of Italian nightspots and events frequented by the rich, the famous, the naive, the hopeless, the ignorant and the wannabees. And, of course, the parasites. Fellini painted a portrait that fits 2011 as well as it fits 1960. The film also featured Anita Ekberg. The poster art for the film catapulted her into the top echelon of recognizable celebrities.
