I really enjoyed this movie which I considered a chick flic and wasn't going to go see... It has lovely cinematography but there is more too it. It showed how her mom's love and positive nature, despite her difficulties, gave her daughter Reese the confidence and strength to pick herself up out of a mega rut (drugs etc) and find her way. In her case it involved a 1000 mile hike but the whole notion of looking forward and challenging yourself comes out loud and clear. Could she have realized this without a mom like that?
