SOUND IT OUT is a documentary portrait of the last surviving vinyl shop in Teeside, North England, and a distinctive, funny and intimate film about men, North England and the irreplaceable role music plays in our lives.
The film's subject, Sound It Out Records, is a cultural haven in one of the most deprived areas in the UK. The store exemplifies a place that is thriving against the odds and the local community that keeps it alive. The shop is run by the dryly philosophical Tom Butchart, whose wealth of knowledge helps his customers track down anything from the song they just heard in the pub, to that elusive vinyl that is a must have for their collection.
