Felt the need to balance the reviews here. If you are unfamiliar with Brazil, Terry GIlliam, or have simply been living under a rock and stumbled into this film, then one can assume you will not like it. If you have seen Brazil, this picks up on a similar vibration. Set in a similar tone, with the incredible Christopher Waltz and Mélanie Thierry in the lead roles of the story. I enjoied the film, and it was not for everyone. The concept of the story is a man's struggle within his life, confinement to routine, and overcoming all the is holding him back. The purpose of his actions, or his life, are very much left to the side of Waltz incredible acting. If you are unfamiliar, watch Inglorious Bastards, or Django Unchained. His work stands out every minute he is on camera. The Zero Theorem is no different and his performance is wonderful. The themes, concepts, and direction of this film with either go over most people's head, or bore them. For the rest of us that loved brazil, Gilliam films are great, and this one is stellar.
