Star Wars fanfiction with a AAA budget. Promising characters and a good set up are squandered by a script which forsakes character development in favor of having the cast go from point A to B and then to C. It's a film where the people within it only ever talk about what they're doing, or what they're going to do when they get to where they're going etc. The Antagonist is a bureaucrat who spends all his time feeling peeved and most of the supporting cast gets very little dialogue past initial introductions. I'm not even sure who the target audience for this one really is. I guess the most hardcore of Star Wars nerds may be more forgiving. The audience certainly seemed to eat it up, so maybe I'm just a crank.
