This is a very, very well made movie - a well anchored story, almost plausible in not too distant Maltusian future. It's also a story that's told superbly, with amazing graphics design. The world is out of resources, there are too many of us... and it is legal to kill for 12 hours on March 24, in an event that looks like a deadly Halloween. Within this twisted logic, everything hangs together perfectly. Some amazing character portrayals of murderous psychopaths. The 'game' (think Hunger Games with the atmosphere of The Last of Us if you play video games, where the zombies are replaced by tourists who come to America to kill ) reaches the highest political levels - so it's not just street thugs. There's good guys, and there's bad guys and gals and enough shooting and chases to carry this as an action movie - but I found the rendering of government sanctioned lawlessness is the most interesting (and unique) part of the movie.
