Spending his whole life playing for the Talleres de Escalada football team has not resulted in the sort of fame and fortune that the 35-year-old Paton Bonassiolle captain and midfielder had expected. Receiving the red penalty card, being sent off the field during a division C match and banned for 8 games, Paton realizes that his days as a professional football-player are coming to an end. He is too old to continue and since he gave up school to play professional football, his career choices are limited. Together with his supportive wife Ale, he decides that it is time for a fresh, new start. Stepping off the field and saying farewell to the routines and codes that has shaped his life for so many years, Paton finds himself taking his first reluctant steps into adulthood.
