Does the North Atlantic have a scent of its own? Does the smell of saffron make us fall in love? Can we recreate a woman's post-coital scent? These are some of the questions asked in the fascinating The Empire of Scents, inspired by the book Taste Buds and Molecules: The Art and Science of Food and Wine, by sommelier François Chartier. Visualized with poetry, creativity and energy by Kim Nguyen (Rebelle), the film is also an invitation to discover the secrets of one of our more mysterious, powerful and essential senses.
