Issa Nyaphaga was jailed for his work drawing political cartoons in Cameroon for a newspaper geared to educate illiterate populations about current events.

After living overseas as a refugee he began developing his career as a fine artist. He used his skills to raise funds to return to his village of Nditam in the rainforest of Cameroon to bring fresh water wells, doctors for those who have never seen them and wheelchairs for victims of polio.

Now he embarks on his most challenging project yet - to build a community radio station in his remote village that runs on renewable energy that can be used for public education.
