Vancouver-based Ann Marie Fleming's independent work has spanned genres from experimental to animation to narrative features. Her latest work is a personal film and a celebration of her great-grandfather, a Chinese acrobat and magician. He was one of the biggest acts in Vaudeville, yet Long Tack Sam himself was a mysterious figure largely unknown to even his family. An ingenious combination of archival footage, animation and a cross-continental journey serves this documentary.
