Toffee or Mint commences with a group of tenement youngsters, whose grey environment breeds tedium and frustration. They have little in the way of family life and can expect even less in the way of work. Given this squalid existence, with practically no alternative, they slide naturally into petty crime, continually escalating until they finally engage in drug running.
